Bata 把查鞋在西堤 Bata shoes in Saigon and Cholon

        一張西貢街景的老照片裡出現了”Bata”，我找出一張1953年的Bata廣告，覺得有趣。上網查了一下”Bata”， Bata是捷克鞋子，創立於1894年，已經有120年的歷史，第一次世界大戰後就陸續在歐洲各國設廠，至今全世界很多國家都有Bata的鞋店。雖然不知道是哪一年在堤岸的張永記街設廠？哪一年在西貢的塔西宜元帥街（舊麥馬洪街）76號設立店鋪？突然覺得很感動，1975年前西貢真是東方的小巴黎，這個城市裡到處都是世界名牌。

        今日，越南全國的大城市都設有Bata鞋的店鋪，胡志明市就有七間店舖，但是1975年前的Bata鞋店應該已經被遺忘了吧！

Bata shoes in Saigon and Cholon

            The "Bata" was appeared in an old Saigon streetscape photo in 1969. Then I found out an advertisement of Bata shoes in 1953.

       “Beta” was founded by Thomas G. Bata with a small inheritance in the town of Zlin, Czechoslovakia on August 24, 1894. It was one of the world’s first shoe “manufacturers”. After World War I, new companies were established in France, Austria, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Egypt, Belgium, Finland, Luxembourg, Hungary, Italy, Indonesia, Singapore and India. Until now, ”Bata” shoe stores are set up in many countries around the world.

            Although I do not know when the Bata factory was set up on the Đường Trương Vĩnh Ký, Cholon and when set up the store in Saigon? Just let me fall Saigon was really a little Paris of the east before 1975, many famous worldwide brands in this city.

              Today, there are a lot of Bata shoe shops in the major cities of Vietnam, even there are seven shops in Ho Chi Minh City. Who remembered knows the Bata shoes store has been in Saigon- Cholon before 1975?
